Hadayek El Maadi
Maadi Gardens is one of the modern areas in Cairo. It was established after 1950s and it was an agricultural land on the outskirts of the Maadi residential area.
In the late 1970s, urban sprawl began and the agricultural land turned into construction land. It is now considered one of the busiest residential areas in Greater Cairo, where it occupies third rank after Shubra and Dar es Salaam.
Its population is estimated at about 3 million people at the beginning of the second millennium. It is bordered to the north by Dar es Salaam, to the south by Maadi, to the east by New Maadi, and to the west by the Nile River.
